United in our passion for the ocean and the culture of outrigger canoe, we embrace family, community and competition.  Based on the beautiful Swan River close to the port of Fremantle, we enjoy river and ocean paddling every day of the week. We welcome paddlers of all ages and all stages so please, join us for a paddle soon!

We aim to foster the growth of outrigger canoe in Western Australia.  We are committed to developing a high-performing, vibrant club focused on inclusivity, teamwork and the personal growth of our junior and senior paddlers so they can excel in Western Australia, nationally and beyond.

15 Year Anniversary Party

On 14 December 2024, the Hurricane OCC paddle family will celebrate 15 fun years of growing our club on and off the water. This ticketed event will be held at our club house and is open to members and non-members. Please get in touch to find out more.

National Club Marathon Champions

Hurricane’s teamwork and training paid off at the 2024 AOCRA National Marathon Titles, with our club taking second place and now ranked #2 in Australia! A huge achievement for all of us.

Three Hurricane women are now ranked as the Top 3 Open Women paddlers in Australia. Our junior team also competed and had a great experience.

Mo'i Canoe Blessing

Hurricane OCC was blessed in 2024 to receive support from the Sultan of Johor in the form of a new OC6 canoe. With his ascension to the throne to become the King of Malaysia, we named the canoe Mo’I which means King, Monarch or Sovereign.
