Our Community
Community is a big part of what makes Hurricane what it is. Our members share a passion for paddling, but the club is about much more than time on the water. We support one another, contribute to our local community and enjoy plenty of opportunities to get together off the water too.
From training and racing to social events, fundraisers and community activities, there’s always something happening at Hurricane. Our Thursday night BBQs are a favourite, giving members a chance to relax, catch up and watch the sun set over the Swan River.
We also enjoy getting involved in the wider community through local events, volunteering and fundraising. We’re proud to work alongside organisations and community groups that share our commitment to bringing people together and making a positive difference.
We’re proud to support the Children’s Cancer Institute, helping contribute to research dedicated to finding better treatments and cures for childhood cancer.
Through fundraising and community initiatives, our members come together to support a cause that means a great deal to our club.

Fundraising
Fundraising is an important part of keeping our club active, accessible and well equipped.
Throughout the year, our members get involved in a range of fundraising activities to help support club equipment, facilities, events and opportunities for our paddlers, including our junior programs and participation in competitions.
From sausage sizzles and raffles to community events and member-led initiatives, our fundraising efforts are powered by volunteers and the generosity of our wider Hurricane community.
Team Building Days
Looking for something a little different for your next team day?
Get your team out on the water and experience outrigger paddling together at our clubhouse on the Swan River in East Fremantle. Our team building sessions are a fun way to get people moving, working together and enjoying something completely different from the usual office environment.
